North of 60 / Mid-Canada Resource Conference 2010

Sponsor and Exhibitor Information

First

Please email Mark Francis at sfrancis@mts.net with the names and title of all you think will or may attend for your company.  We don't mind printing extra nametags in advance.

Second

Please email Mark Francis at sfrancis@mts.net with your:  proper corporate name, investor contact phone number, website, and a 40 word objective overview.  We will do our best to fit it in.  Please do not use subjective language in your description, i.e. do not say "superlative management", even if you are.  We will edit out wording we consider to be subjective.

Third

Dinner count for February 2 - please let us know how many of you will be attending dinner by January 28.

Fourth

The companies that have the best success call ahead to brokers and either arrange to visit them in their office or have them come down.  This way the brokers are anticipating you.

The Fairmont is at Portage and Main.

Shipping
Contact the Fairmont Hotel, 957-1350, if you are sending your booth or materials in advance.

Sponsors
Skillful sponsors take care not to interrupt companies when they are pitching investors - the necessary priority for this conference. The exhibitors know that the event couldn't happen without our sponsors, and are very happy to talk with you about your services when there is an appropriate window.

Freebies
To date, we have several potential offers on offer from Sponsors, so be sure to check with Targeted, Geotic, and The Newswire.

February 2 RECEPTION AND DINNER for Exhibitors and Sponsors
Thompson Dorfman Sweatman boardroom, 22nd floor, TD Bank building (201 Portage at Portage and Main).

If you are arriving after 5:15pm, in order to get elevator access you may have to call the cell for either David Gurvey 204-880-0285 or Mark Francis 204-471-8992. Phone twice. If it's noisy we might not hear at first.

4:30pm - Reception, with brief Sponsor Introductions
6:15pm - Buffet Dinner

SetUp
8:00am Wednesday Feb 3 in the Ballroom (we are letting you sleep in this year!).  We get set up and then you can go for breakfast or make calls. Just be back by 10am.

Booth/Table Allocation
For those who haven't been with us before, allocation of booths and tables is only made 2 days before as the ballroom is intimate and one participant's change can require last minute shifts, but don't worry, it all works out, without too much fuss, and we arrange the coffee and refreshments opposite the entrance in order to ensure full circulation of the room.

Lunch
We are trying a slight change this year, with lunch in the trade show area and no luncheon talks which tended to pull people away at the best time. We will bring lunch to your booth, so you don't have to line up with the masses.

Lunch Tickets for Investors
Let us know if you have local Manitoba investors (or brokers) who need a lunch ticket. We will be happy to oblige.

4:00 Reception, Feb 3, in the trade show area
We always serve hors d'oeuvres gratis and have a cash bar. This helps bring the brokers, as the market closes at 3pm and lets them finish their calls.

Winding Up
We tell Investors 6pm, but that is so they still show up at 4:30. In truth things get sparse by 5:00 to 5:30, and you can tear down at 5:30, unless you have an earlier flight. Please let us know in advance if this is the case.

Dinner after the Show
Officially you are on your own, but people seem to spontaneously organize a group event.

Ice Skating
Bring your ice skates if you like, as the skating on the groomed ice ribbons of several kms on the frozen Red and Assiniboine Rivers is truly outstanding. If you haven't skated in a winter-peaceful river valley, just ask Nick Thomas of SWY how wonderful it is, even if he did find a snowbank the hard way.
